HOW WE HELP

Community Participation

We're One With the Community

community

We believe that communities are strengthened by the talents of individuals with disabilities. As part of the Adult Training Facility, individuals have the opportunity to work on daily living skills, social development, communication, functional academics, community integration, physical exercise, computer skills, pre-vocational and vocational training.

In addition to volunteer opportunities, our individuals actively engage with their community in many ways such as shopping and bowling, taking trips to the movies, restaurants, area libraries, post offices, parks, flea markets, festivals, The Pittsburgh Zoo, and The Carnegie Science Center. Our agency vehicles allow us to provide a multitude of opportunities in the community.

Volunteer Locations

Individuals at the Washington location volunteer with the Meals-On-Wheels program, The Pennsylvania Trolley Museum, Christian Outreach, Salvation Army Chapel, The Moose Lodge, The Washington County Food Bank, and Stepping Stones, just to name a few. At the Greene location in Waynesburg, individuals volunteer with the Meals on Wheels program and Direct Results.
